The movies often left me incredibly confused. Read the books and so many things will suddenly make sense. If you want to know the answer to that, you have to read the book.

The pacing was bad, the acting was seriously shitty, and the 3D I paid an extra $10 to see lasted for about seven minutes.

The movie doesn't really explain the full significance of his identity, and the big reveal was, like you elaborately explained, really lacking. Another small example is when Harry gets knocked through a wall in that old house when fighting Nagini.
