You would have to look at the State Park's website. We visited several parks in MN to see waterfalls in mid April and while the park itself was open some waterfalls required you to take unpaved travels to get there. We encountered snow and ice. The falls here are right off the parking lot and while it is a short walk to the bridge to see the rest of the upper and lower falls you do have to walk through unpaved areas.

Q:
How deep is the water at the deepest point? Below the falls?
A:
All depends on the amount of rain recently. When we went there was NO WAY ANYONE could go in the water.
Q:
how long is the trail?
A:
There are a couple of trails. We did all of them during a snowstorm in a few hours (a lot of picture taking and standing around was included).
