It is reasonably close and as another reviewer says on the tram route. The Melia Bilbao which is a large brown modern hotel is right on the edge of it - use that to give you bearings. If you walk through the park you'll come to more shops and restaurants on the other side. Have fun. It is a nice city but can be rainy so grab an umbrella!
