I don't really recommend going. The views you get are nice and the history is good as well. There are many ancient Chinese letters inscribed on the walls floor. There are also tiny holes in the sides… Full review by OliverBLovesTheEarth

Beautiful very intact wall. It’s great for people watching too as there are people everywhere. Great Photo opportunities and a way to see part of the ancient city. Full review by Locococomama

Open all the time! You now have to pay to go there. Not expensive like 10 US dollars. You can even rent bike to ride around. It is about 15 km around. Very nice!

There are a number of areas you can visit in the early evening, and the sun sets are unbelievable. However there are no guarantees as the weather can be cloudy and as such there is only the view of the wall light up and the city which In itself is outstanding. You can also hire a bike and cycle around the wall 13k, bikes are a little let’s just say old styled, but hi good fun. Hope this helps
