This is the fifth American cemetery I have visited in Europe and as with the rest it is beautiful, well maintained and humbling. Knowing each cross represents a life not fully lived gives one pause.… Full review by RJN612

We will be in town center and are not driving. What is the best way to get here? Or must we book a tour?

We drive all over Europe so I'm afraid I can't help you very much. If you go to the American Battle Monuments website and find the name of one of the staff people there, email them and ask them about public transportation to the Cemetery. In the right hand corner of the website there is a "Contact Us" button. We have seen buses on the roads going past, so I'm sure there is a way to get there. Or ask the people at the hotel where you are staying. They should be able to help you. If you have time, maybe you can visit our cousin's grave, PFC James Privoznik, Plot E, Row 15, Grave 76. And say "Hello" to Laurie for us. We last visited in April. Hope this helps.
Does anyone know if you can take a bike on the bus to the cemetery

We are from the United States so you would have to ask someone local or email the Cemetery. The people who work there are wonderful and very helpful. Website is ABMC.gov
Is there somewhere to leave a small suitcase while I visit and will it be difficult to get a taxi from the Cemetery after my visit to go to the airport? I'd like to squeeze a visit in during a business trip to Luxembourg, but only have the morning of my departure free. My flight is at 11:30 am and it looks like the cemetery is somewhat near the airport, so I would be visiting en route to the airport.

Hello, There is no bus that will take you directly to the cemetery. To access the cemetery via bus from Luxembourg city, you can take Bus # 15. Common stops are Gare Rocade (bus stop behind the train station) and Wallis (bus stop a little bit more into the city). You want to take the bus to the cemetery in the direction of Hamm, rue de Bitbourg. You will get off the bus stop called Hamm, Käschtewee. After you get off the bus stop, you want to head in the direction of the roundabout that should be a little bit in front of you. Walk through the roundabout. When you reach a traffic light, take a right and follow the footpath. The footpath will begin to descend. Once you reach the end of the footpath, you will arrive on a road. Take a left. Walk up the road. You will come across the cemetery, which will be to your right. In total, the walk from the bus stop to the cemetery is less than one mile, or about 1.2 kilometers. If you have any questions, please contact the cemetery at [email protected]. Thank you.
