There are two ways to visit this hill (funicular or hiking paths), and we decided to try both of them. We located the funicular station fairly easily and discovered it was running every 15 minutes (…Full review by ksufan88

We took the funicular tram up, which runs every 30 minutes. It's in a tunnel, so you don't get a view going up. Walking around the top gives you some nice views. We were warned about the high pric…Full review by Carter W

I’m trying to figure out the best way to get to the funicular. Is it required to do many flights of stairs before even reaching it? Thank you!
A:
Its a long walk uphill from the subway and we had to ask numerous people how to get there. I'd recommend taking a cab.
Q:
On the funicular. Does anyone know why random words are projected everywhere?
A:
One of the words was Metaxa...a well known Greek spirit drink... So some of it was certainly advertising.

Looking to go to Athens as a single traveller. Only speak English...any problems with this? How is the travel in February? Is it easy to get around?
A:
No problem with English at all. I traveled in January so it's about the same-bit cold but dress good and it's no problem!

I personally took the cable car up. I heard you can drive to a certain point but we just found it easier to take the cable car up and down. Or walk if you want!

If it will be a hot day I wouldn’t recommend it and being that your child is quite young, you might end up having to carry him! Especially if/when he gets tired and starts to cry. The funicular is fine. It is just enclosed so you don’t see anything on the ride up or down. It is a walk up several stairs to it also. You could take a cab also to the funicular or close to the top and then walk up a little bit where the cab can’t go any further. If you are going up there for the view, I’d recommend visiting the Acropolis. You will get to see so much more.
