Nilwood is an incorporated town in Macoupin County, Illinois, United States. The population was 201 at the 2020 census, down from 284 in 2000. Illinois Route 4 passes through the north side of town, leading southwest 11 miles to Carlinville, the county seat, and northeast 4 miles to Girard.
