This was an amazing experience! Our guide, Gilberto, was wonderful and very informative. It was not crowded, so we enjoyed having time at the ruins/site. It is definitely worth a visit!Full review by Viajera_aventurera1

Nice place to know the history of Lima and the pre Inca culture. Go prepared to walk because the place is big. Do not miss to visit the museum first, at the entrance, to understand the history, once …Full review by andrepaleari

I did not see any guides to hire at the site. I used a local agency- Haku Tours. Haku Tours hires local guides and drivers. They pick up and drop off at your hotel. Haku Tours also donates part of their fee back into the local community. As a solo traveler, I felt safe. My guide and driver were very knowledgeable. My guide spoke fluent English.

Thank you everyone for answers. We did take a taxi in the end, it was only 5-10 minutes ride from Miraflores. Like others said, there is a small museum just behind the ticket office but what we didn't know is that a tour guide is included in the ticket. In fact, you cannot go wandering around the site on your own, there is a guard which does not let you. You need to wait for a guide in your language to get there. Tours start every half an hour, if I remember correctly.

We had a ships tour so it was taken care of. If you haven't booked then taxi/ cab may be an option or there may be a tour kiosk outside the ships pier. It s quite a distance outside of Lima so transport is a must do for this attraction. We also had a tour guide who helped explain the site. Cheers
