At certain times of year, stingers yes and crocodiles are possible. Sadly a woman was taken from an inlet at the end of Four Mile Beach (the end furthest away from Port Douglas) last year. It’s a beautiful beach but you just can’t swim or play in it apart from an area at the end of Macrossan Street that has safety nets and is patrolled.
Q:
When is a good time to go to four mile beach in the netted area for a swim and a walk ? Morning or afternoon ?
A:
Morning before the prevailing SE wind picks up usually the best.
