There is lots of information and resources on the website and the visitor center is very nice and the staff is very helpful. You will actually want to buy a car pass in advance.

In December I would think the temperature would be better in the afternoon. However, if you want to see any wildlife, they are usually more active in the morning. So if you don't care about the wildlife, the afternoon would probably be best. And if you want to see any wildlife, then the morning would probably be better. It's your choice.
Q:
Planning a trip mid December….what will the weather be like at this time? Does it snow?? Thanks In advance
A:
We get snow every 10 years or so. Since Red Rock is higher elevation, they tend to get snow more than the valley. Usually we see snow there Dec-March if it even snows.
Q:
Can you show up without a timed reservarion and get put on a wait list till a time comes available?
A:
We just visited Sept 2022, didn’t have any type of reservation and had no problems for our self guided tour/exploration.
