Sirens sounded in Israel as Iran launched dozens of ballistic missiles in retaliation for Israel's strikes on its nuclear facilities.

The State Department ordered nonessential staff and their families to leave the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad as tensions with Iran over nuclear talks escalate. This comes as sources tell CBS News that Israel plans to launch an operation against Iran.

President Donald Trump told CNN in a brief phone call Friday morning that the United States “of course” supports Israel and called the country’s strikes on Iran overnight “a very successful attack,” while warning Iran to make a nuclear deal.

The State Department told regional allies about Israel's plan to strike Iran, and indicated it wasn't a U.S. operation, four sources told CBS News.
