Starz is keeping its Outlander franchise alive for another season. The newly independent cable and streaming outlet has ordered a second season of Outlander: Blood of My Blood, a prequel to its long-running drama.

The prequel series “ Outlander: Blood of My Blood ” has been renewed for Season 2 ahead of the series premiere on Aug. 8 on Starz. Production on Season 2 is now underway in Scotland.

According to Starz, production on Season 2 of Outlander: Blood of My Blood has officially kicked off in Scotland, timed to the renewal announcement on Monday, June 23, 2025. Production is taking place on the same stages where the legacy series Outlander filmed for the past ten years.
