An Ohio sheriff is under fire for a social media post in which he said people with Kamala Harris yard signs should have their addresses recorded so that immigrants can be sent to live with them if Harris wins.

The attention on Springfield then became amplified again when the Republican vice presidential candidate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, took to X to claim that people in the city have had their “pets abducted and eaten by people who shouldn’t be in this country.”

Portage County Sheriff Bruce Zuchowski, a Republican who backs Trump, likens people in the U.S. illegally to “human locusts.”

In a Facebook post, Bruce Zuchowski said his comments were "misinterpreted," but added, chillingly, "With elections, there are consequences."
