SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA - A 3.6 magnitude quake was registered near Pine Valley Saturday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, CA - According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 3.5 magnitude quake rattled near Atascadero Saturday evening.

A series of moderate to minor earthquakes struck near the geologically active area in Northern California known as The Geysers south of Clear Lake Thursday morning.

The ground continues to shift in the Mojave Desert as authorities reported an earthquake east of Barstow. A magnitude 2.9 earthquake struck at 10:23 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, about 16 miles west northwest of Ludlow, the U.S. Geological Survey stated. The quake was centered north of Interstate 40 in the Cady Mountains Wilderness Study Area.

The University of Texas at Arlington is far from California earthquake country, yet its researchers are helping pinpoint which sections of the San Andreas Fault are most active.

Sunday morning, a preliminary 3.0 magnitude quake was reported near Ferndale, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
