VENTURA COUNTY, CA - the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a preliminary 3.6 magnitude quake occurred close to Fillmore Saturday afternoon.

The federal government and earthquake experts blamed a technical glitch for the alert that sent warnings hundreds of miles away last week.

The clusters of earthquakes have all been underneath the East Bay suburb of San Ramon, which is close to the Calaveras fault. There were at least 19 earthquakes of magnitude 2 or greater on Monday alone.
