A Bellevue family donated its nearly 40-foot-tall blue spruce to the Green Bay Packers for the annual Festival of Lights. The tree was harvested and transported 10 miles to its place of honor on Bob Harlan Plaza at Lambeau Field.

The Packers started hot and kept the Lions at arm’s length the rest of the game. Detroit never led. The Packers made numerous plays on each side of the ball, just like they did in the season opener.

The Green Bay Packers, in conjunction with the WIAA and the InsideOut Program, have announced that Michael LeBouton of Horicon High School in Horicon, Wis., has been named the Green Bay Packers Athletic Director of the Year.

One Packers player who will play a key role in slowing down Detroit’s ground attack is All-Pro safety Xavier McKinney. Of all Green Bay defenders with north of 200 run-defense snaps, McKinney possesses the highest Pro Football Focus run-defense grade (78.7). He’s also graded out as the eighth-best safety in the NFL today (78.5).

In the first of three Thanksgiving day games, the Detroit Lions play host to the division rival Green Bay Packers .

Detroit faces its first repeat opponent of the year, the Packers. Last time out, the Packers were able to stifle the Lions in the red zone on their opportunities. The Lions were out of sync, and consistent targeting of Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jahmyr Gibbs were easily snuffed out.
