C.J. Kayfus and Jhonkensy Noel homered, helping Parker Messick and the Cleveland Guardians beat the Chicago White Sox 3-1.

The Cleveland Guardians continued their series against the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. Here's how the game unfolded.

The last time the White Sox played at Progressive Field, their roster looked a little different. Mike Clevinger was working out of the bullpen. Matt Thaiss was seeing time at catcher. Austin Slater hadn’t been traded away.

Now the Rays schedule has them spending a week in Chicago where they’ll take on the south siders and north siders over a six game stretch starting with the White Sox. Chicago took two of three from Tampa Bay following the All-Star break but currently are the worst team in the American League with a record of 55-89.

Both teams trail the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League East, though they're also chasing a Wild Card berth
