The monsoon season will bring added moisture which could be helpful, but the accompanying winds are a major concern for fire officials, they said.

The Oak Ridge Fire has stalled at an estimated 10,623 acres with containment up to 6% on the Navajo Nation near the Arizona-New Mexico state line.

The Oak Ridge Fire near Window Rock, Arizona, has burned over 1,800 acres and was 0% contained, as of June 29, 2025. Authorities suspected wood haulers may have started the fire and were investigating two persons of interest. The Navajo Nation has declared a state of emergency and increased fire restrictions.
