Heading into the matchup Texas leads the all-time series vs. the Miners 6-0, winning by an average of 44 points in their last four matchups dating back to 2008. The two last played in 2020, with Texas dominating the Miners 59-3 in Austin behind a five touchdown performance by Sam Ehlinger, that included 426 yards through the air.
After backing up Ewers, Manning finally got his chance to start under center in 2025. However, he has not lived up to the hype so far. Against Ohio State, he finished with 170 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also completed only 17 of his 30 passing attempts in the loss.
Arch Manning had another below-average outing as the Longhorns' offense struggled for large stretches against heavy underdog UTEP.
