New tropical wave forecast to emerge off Africa's coast as another system nears formation

Located roughly midway between the Windward Islands and the west coast of Africa as of 7 a.m., the system is expected to become a tropical depression or storm within the next day or two. As of 7 a.m., it had a 90% chance of forming in the next 48 hours, according to the NHC.
