The 49ers (2-3) blew a 10-point, fourth-quarter lead and fell 24-23 to the visiting Arizona Cardinals in record heat at Levi’s Stadium

Brock Purdy's pass was tipped at the line and the Arizona Cardinals snatched the ball from the air to secure a much-needed victory in San Francisco. Seconds earlier, Chad Ryland kicked a 35-yard field goal that put the Cardinals up 24-23.

The 49ers advanced to the red zone six times, but came away with only one touchdown and a total of 16 points. Most impressive was that four series began with first-and-goal inside the 10-yard line, but the result was three field goals and a fumble on first down.
