(WTOK) - Today is the first Sunday of Advent, and with that, the lighting of the advent wreath. Visitors to Merrehope were invited to make their own advent wreath with either fresh or fake foliage.

It starts on the Sunday nearest to 30 November and ends on the fourth Sunday before 25 December. An advent wreath with four candles lit. The fifth candle is lit on Christmas day.
