Aer Lingus yesterday commenced its inaugural service to Cleveland in Ohio, its first new transatlantic route since 2019, on cue with the surge in US demand for travel this summer.

Aer Lingus initially operated from 1936 to when its services were terminated during the Second World War, before being re-established in 1947 as Aerlínte Éireann to operate transatlantic flights.
