I usually dress up brides on their wedding day, for photo shoots, and at that point, I had not started doing Aso-oke. However, the Aso-oke stood out for me whenever I style brides.
It’s not dissimilar. My sisters and I had blouses (called buba in the Yoruba language) made using an aso ebi (family cloth), a lace fabric that we would then pair with aso oke (high cloth).
