A prominent and busy Aiken County road once had another name. Whiskey Road used to be called Cherokee Road, Aiken County Historical Museum Director Lauren Virgo said at a lecture July 16.

The city of Aiken will be hosting a public hearing on the proposed Powderhouse Road connector project on Thursday.
