From the 0-26 "Yuccaneers" to 2-time champions, Buccaneers celebrate 50 years with new docuseries
TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers shed the “Yuccaneers” label decades ago. They went from 0-26 to two-time Super Bowl champions and currently are four-time defending NFC South champs. They’re tied for first place entering a game against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night when they’ll be wearing their original creamsicle uniforms.
The Panthers and Buccaneers enter Week 15 with identical 6-7 records and they'll close the season with two games against each other in the final three weeks.
Doug Williams and Jimmie Giles elaborate on the '79 NFC Central Championship at the preview of Raise the Flags: 50 Years of Buccaneers Football. The 10-part doscuseries is streaming now on Amazon Prime Video.
Forget the 6-2 start and dreams of making a championship run. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers don’t even look like a playoff team right now. They have no time to dwell on a dismal effort in a 24-20 loss to the lowly New Orleans Saints.
