In a Wednesday opinion piece for The New York Times, researcher and pollster Kristen Soltis Anderson said she was "surprised" Trump did not want to name Vance as his successor, given the vice president's age and embrace of technology, which will be an advantage as the GOP aims to appeal to the next generation of voters.
