It’s such a simple motif – a woman at or by a window – yet, as curator Jennifer Sliwka ably demonstrates in this show, is one that contains hidden depths.

Isabel Codrington was born in Bydown, near Barnstaple in Devon. She enrolled in the Royal Academy School in London at the age of 15, where she was awarded two medals for her artistic achievements.
