Gov. Jeff Landry said Thursday he supports an NHL hockey team coming to New Orleans. "It’s time Louisiana has an @NHL Team," Landry said on the social media site X. "The economic impact would be substantial and having the Stanley Cup in the Big Easy would be a win for all!"

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry seems to support the idea. NHL reporter Kevin Weekes reports, per a conversation he had with NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly, that a group interested in bringing an expansion team to New Orleans, recently met in New York City with league executives.
