Brendan Lemieux of the New York Rangers will be suspended for his hit against Colorado Avalanche forward Joonas Donskoi, the NHL Department of Player Safety said Friday.

Lemieux has a short history of league suspensions. In 2018, he was suspended for two games for an illegal check to the head of an opponent, and in 2020 he was suspended for interference.
