Meta plans $60-65bn capex on AI data center boom, will bring ~1GW of compute online this year
Last year, Meta's capex was between $35bn and $40bn, representing a significant increase. This month, Microsoft said that it would spend $80bn on AI data centers. In a Facebook post, Zuckerberg also re-announced a $10 billion data center in Richland Parish, northeast Louisiana.

Meta Platforms plans to invest up to $65 billion in capital expenditures in 2025 to expand efforts related to data centers and artificial intelligence. Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said the social-media company will build a 2-gigawatt-plus data center and will end the year with more than 1.3 million graphics processing units (GPUs).
