ACAPULCO, Mexico -- A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck near the Mexico resort city of Acapulco late Tuesday, according to the USGS. The quake hit at 6:47 p.m. PT less than 10 miles north of Acapulco.
A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck the Drake Passage on Friday, the German Research Centre for Geosciences said. The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles), GFZ said.
