A strike that shut down all NJ Transit rail service on Friday has ended, with full service scheduled to resume Tuesday morning, according to state officials and the union representing locomotive engineers.

Residents of South and Central New Jersey and Pennsylvania are scrambling for travel options after NJ Transit engineers walked off the job.

During a late night press conference at Newark Penn Station, Gov. Phil Murphy and NJ Transit CEO Kris Kolluri said daily negotiations had failed.
