Cemal and Emine Emanet, who have been waiting for approval on their Green Card applications since 2008, were detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers carrying rifles

The judge will have the option of setting bond, which could then be posted to free Emine Emanet, or keeping her in detention

ICE is defending itself after it arrested a mother and son pair of illegal immigrants with criminal histories in the United States, the agency said.

According to family, Yolanda Perez has no criminal background and her son, Jonathan Tejeda-Perez, was allegedly targeted for a past crime.
