A brave shopkeeper was stabbed in the face as he fought off an armed robber. Arfan Ahmed was working alone at Mamzy Newsagents in Coppice when the robber burst in wielding a knife and claw hammer.

Martin Geoghegan, 22, fired at Arfan Ahmed from the passenger window of a car, blasting him in the neck, chest and stomach. The innocent victim survived the attack on August 2 last year.
