Hunter Tarchalski's two-run homer sparked a five-run frame to lift the No. 1-seeded Eagles to a 7-3 win over eighth-seeded Milton to open the Region 1-5A quarterfinal best-of-three series.

The Pontotoc track and field teams had a number of outstanding performances last Thursday at the Region 1-5A Championship meet. The boys finished in 2nd place as a team, while the girls were 4th.
