The German arms concern Rheinmetall and two Lithuanian state-owned companies have signed an agreement to establish a joint venture. They will produce 155-millimeter artillery ammunition, LRT reports.

Rheinmetall is among those that has been ramping up production of large-caliber ammunition, and the company aims for capacity to produce up to 1.1 million 155 mm artillery shells annually by 2027.
