Social Security recipients can expect changes to their payments in May, including the continued shifts toward electronic-only payments.

Some Social Security recipients will receive two payments in May. More than 7.4 million recipients of Supplemental Security Income, administered by the Social Security Administration, will be paid Thursday, May 1 and then again on Friday, May 30. The second May payment is due to June 1 – the regular payment date- falling on a Sunday.
