George Bell, a former Harlem Globetrotter, actor and law enforcement officer who held the record for the tallest man in America, has died at age 67. Called a “gentle giant,” Bell, who was born in Portsmouth,

George Bell died in Durham at 67, having played comedy basketball for Harlem Wizards, tried out for the LA Clippers and acted in “American Horror Story.”

Bell played Tall Ghost Man in three episodes of the FX show American Horror Story. Bell was also in eight episodes of the AMC series, Freakshow, and he played a bank robber in the short film, Bank Robber. He also played Pituitary Giant in one episode of the series Extreme Bodies.
