Three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer is expected to be activated from the 60-day injured list to start for the Blue Jays at Cleveland on Wednesday, manager John Schneider said.

The Blue Jays own the AL's second Wild Card spot despite future Hall of Famer Max Scherzer (thumb) pitching just one game this season. The 40-year-old exited after three innings against the Baltimore Orioles on March 29, and he's been rehabbing ever since.

Max Scherzer gave up two runs and struck out four in 4 1/3 innings in his first Triple-A rehab start since suffering inflammation in his right thumb.
