LAS VEGAS -- Brett Howden scored at 4:05 of overtime to give the Vegas Golden Knights a 3-2 win against the Minnesota Wild in Game 5 of the Western Conference First Round at T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday. Howden roofed a one-timer from the bottom of the left circle off a backhand pass from Tanner Pearson, who was below the goal line.

Brett Howden scored 4:05 into overtime Tuesday night to give the Golden Knights a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild and put Vegas one game away from advancing out of the Western Conference first round.

Howden, Vegas’ fourth-line center, has made for an unlikely hero in the series now with a pair of game-winning goals. He’s also tied for the team lead with Tomas Hertl with three postseason goals.
