The site of the East Side park is on land owned by the city of Visalia but currently outside the city limits, between Houston Avenue and Highway 198, west of Comstock Street.

When Visalia city officials asked for the public to create maps showing how they believe the city’s new voter districts should be divided, they responded by submitting a dozen maps.

The Visalia City Council on Monday chose the boundaries of five council districts to be used next year when the city switches from at-large to district elections of council members.
