David Moyes has named a former Liverpool midfielder on his Everton coaching staff after returning to Goodison Park for a second stint when Sean Dyche was fired.

Everton have added Alan Irvine and Charlie Adam to new manager David Moyes’ backroom staff. Former Everton winger Irvine, 66, joins as assistant manager, a role he held under Moyes both at Goodison Park and with West Ham United.

There is something about the extroverted “no-nonsense” approach of the gravelly Sean Dyche that inspires blind confidence in his ability to grind out results, calming the worries of casually interested pundits.

Ex-Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has become part of Everton's backroom staff, taking on a role as set-piece coach. The Scot has joined forces with David Moyes, who has also appointed Alan Irvine as his assistant - a role he held during Moyes' last spell with the Toffees.
