For the four December weeks in 2024, there were just 44,000 new pending home sales on average for single-family homes. In 2023, that average was just under 44,000 per week.

New home sales in December rose 3.6% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 698,000 units. 2024 existing home sales fell to 4.06 million units, the lowest since 1995, due to high mortgage rates.
