Backstage at the Academy Awards, the filmmaker praised the Academy for celebrating independent film even as they compete with movies with budgets "literally almost 100 times" of their film.

Sean Baker shouted out Quentin Tarantino in person on the Oscars stage for their Mikey Madison connection after winning Best Director for 'Anora.'

Madison, who is also known for her work in the FX series “ Better Things ,” wins the best actress Oscar over Demi Moore in “The Substance,” Fernanda Torres in “I’m Still Here,” Cynthia Erivo in “Wicked” and “Karla Sofía Gascón in “Emilia Pérez.”
