The Texans have waived wide receiver Diontae Johnson right before their AFC divisional matchup with the Chiefs.

The Houston Texans’ wide receiver room can’t catch a break. Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell both suffered season-ending injuries, and Nico Collins missed several weeks due to a hamstring injury earlier this season.

In a surprise move, the Texans waived the veteran wide receiver just three weeks after claiming him off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens. He’s an impending free agent after the year, so only a team remaining in the playoffs could claim him for a run to New Orleans.

Joe Mixon is active for the Houston Texans’ divisional playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Pro Bowl running back had shown up on the injury report with an ankle problem and missed practice late in the week.

The 28-year-old has worn out his welcome in Pittsburgh, Carolina, Baltimore and Houston in the last calendar year.
