Brian Campbell cashed in on a huge break Sunday when his tee shot in a playoff bounced out of the trees and back into play, leading to a birdie on the second extra hole to win the Mexico Open over Aldrich Potgieter.
Playing the par-5 18th hole at Vidanta Vallarta for the third time, Campbell benefited from a fortuitous bounce off his tee shot, which peeled right and headed for out of bounds.
Jake Knapp almost missed out on defending his title over the weekend due to a penalty, but it was overturned and he made the cut on the number.
Aldrich Potgieter came close to join a super exclusive club on the PGA Tour, after his Mexico Open second round performance.
