Duolingo recently announced the "death" of its mascot, Duo. After making several hints that the app's users could resurrect the owl, the event is now underway.
On February 11, the pesky owl's death was announced on X and the statement read, "Authorities are currently investigating his cause of death and we are cooperating fully. Tbh, he probably died waiting for you to do your lesson, but what do we know."
This is one of the weirder promotions done by an app in recent months. The company even made a video showing Duo being killed by a Cybertruck.
