A Birmingham manufacturing and distribution company is planning a $45 million investment in its operations near Parrish in Walker County. Nelson Brothers Inc. makes commercial and explosives chemicals for the mining industry, as well offering distribution, engineering and technical services.

Stavros Halkias, a comedian who rose to fame from a podcast with an unprintable name and parlayed that popularity with concert tours and a movie, is coming to Birmingham this spring for a comedy show.
