COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Lt. Gov. Jon Husted to fill the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Vice President-elect J.D. Vance. Husted is set to become the first U.S. senator from northwest Ohio. He grew up in Montpelier in Williams County.
Ohio’s Governor Mike DeWine has an n ounced that Jon Husted, the state’s lieutenant governor, will fill the vacant seat created by J.D. Vance’s elevation to the vice presidency.
